I just have to complain a bit. Stephanie Meyer lovers.. you should probably stop reading now. Spoilers for Breaking Dawn, if you actually care, too.
So yes, I caved in and read Breaking Dawn. Just because I had to see how it ended. The book was waaaay to long. I also heard that Meyer wanted to have it made into 2 movies? No one wants to watch two movies of that. I think Meyer is thinking of herself at JKRowling's level which is a delusion. I can't believe that people can actually compare the two series.
First of all, Harry Potter is not about sappy teenage romance. Second of all, JKR doesn't take shortcuts (Bella having a baby in a month? Oh jeez.) JKR has good plots. And good endings. (What was with the Volturi coming in at the end? Lame.)
Also, Harry isn't perfect. Harry isn't spectacular at everything he tries. (Just Defense Against the Dark Arts 'n all that)Bella, on the other hand could control herself when she was a newborn. I was sick of how SM glorified her sooooo much. (Bella's perfect, beautiful, has great self control, yadda yadda yadda..)
Okay, Stephanie Meyer's books aren't that bad; they're almost entertaining while you're reading them. But she should not be compared to JKR at all. I'm appalled that Meyer is now a Best Selling Author.
If you don't agree with me, that's okay. My opinion, folks.
